Andreen Undergraduate Research Endowment

Brian Andreen was a founder of CUR, and in 1998, was honored by his colleagues with the establishment of an endowed fund in his name. This endowment fund is intended to support undergraduate researchers and other related expenses, to be determined by the Executive Board on the advice of the Executive Officer. Examples of programs supported by this endowment are the CUR Fellows and CUR-Goldwater Scholars Faculty Mentor Awards.

Arts and Humanities Endowment

The Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) announces a new endowment that will support a CUR Arts and Humanities Mentor Award as well as other initiatives to nurture arts and humanities research involving faculty members and undergraduates.

Noted 2012 CUR Fellow Joyce Kinkead (distinguished professor of English, Utah State University) established this fund in 2018 to support undergraduate research, scholarship, and creative inquiry in arts and humanities disciplines and encourages others to consider donations to the endowment.

The CUR Executive Board, in consultation with CUR Executive Officer, will determine additional priorities for the arts and humanities endowment, such as an annual faculty Mentor Award. It is anticipated that a call for nominations for the inaugural Mentor Award will be issued in fall 2018, with the first award presented at a CUR event in spring 2019.

CUR General Fund

This fund is used to support general CUR operations, including: CUR’s education and advocacy efforts, such as Posters on the Hill, CUR’s professional development institutes, such as the National Conference on Undergraduate Research, and information resources, such as CUR’s scholarly journal and other publications

Additional uses must align with CUR’s mission and strategic plan, and will be determined by the Executive Board, on the advice of the Executive Officer.
